Soroptimist International
Denbigh, Ruthin and District
The word "Soroptimist" derives from the Latin "soror" (sister) and "optima" (best); we interpet this to mean "the best of women".
Soroptimist International is a worldwide organisation for women in management and the professions. It is a global voice for women through Awareness, Advocacy and Action and strives for:
- the advancement of the status of women;
- high ethical standards;
- human rights for all;
- equality, development and peace;
through International Goodwill and Understanding and Friendship.
Soroptimist International is committed to:
- service to local, national and international communities;
- active participation in decision-making by women at all levels in society.
Soroptimist International maintains a position of strict neutrality on matters of political controversy between nations, party politics and sectarian religion
